Habit
A large evergreen tree up to 150 feet height
Habitat
Grown in Himalayan region.
Morphology
- Stem /Bark- Bark dark, rough on old stem.
- Leaves- 2.5-4 cm long, needle like, sharp pointed.
- Flowers- Usually monoecious, male catkins are solitary at ends of the branchlets.
- Fruits- Cone like, erect, 10-12.5 cm long.
- Seeds- 7.5- 15 mm long, pale brown.

Heart wood contains essential oil, himachalol, cedrinoside, taxifolin.
